Police Chief Manuel Cid
On January 16, 2023, Chief Manuel Cid became the 20th police chief in the history of Glendale. Chief Cid comes to Glendale after nearly 20 years serving the community of Culver City. His tenure in Culver City includes the last 2 ½ years as the Department’s Chief of Police, a role he has served in since the spring of 2020 when he became the Department’s youngest and first ever Latino Police Chief.
Throughout his two-decade career with the Culver City Police Department, Chief Cid has had the opportunity to work a vast array of assignments, while promoting up the ranks of a full-service police department. Chief Cid’s law enforcement career includes extensive experience in the areas of patrol and enforcement operations, investigations, law enforcement administrations and professional standards, as well as emergency management. Chief Cid has also had the opportunity to work on multiple local, state, and federal taskforces, impacting public safety on a regional level.
